It is with deep regret that we announce the recall of Sister Anne to her Mother House in Ireland, the home of the Mercy Sisters.

Sister Anne is a member of the Irish Sisters of Mercy; an order founded by Catherine McCauley in Dublin in 1831; in 1843 the first group of Sisters of that community arrived in Pittsburgh.

In 1960 Sister Anne and fourteen of her Sisters from the  Enniskillen Community were sent to Florida.

Sister has ministered in the Archdiocese of Miami for forty eight years, first as a teacher in Immaculate Conception School in Hialeah for 20 years and later in St. Bernadette, St. Helen and recently in St. Paul.

Even though Sister Anne has worked at St. Paul for only five years, members of her community taught CCD in this parish with Msgr. Brice forty years ago.

We are indebted to Sister Anne and her community for their years of ministry in this diocese; she will be sorely missed at St. Paul’s.

Sunday, June 23rd following the 11:30 Mass and the Corpus Christi procession, a reception will be held to honor Sister Anne and her years of Service to our parish, everyone is invited. Thank you Sister Anne
